December 17-18, 2025
A two-day Science Communication Workshop was organized by the National Disease Modelling Consortium in collaboration with the IoE-funded Scientific Communication and Public Policy (SCPP) initiative (Phase IV).
The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Siddharth Kankaria, an independent consultant specializing in science communication, society, and justice, and a scientific committee member of the Public Communication of Science & Technology (PCST) Network. The workshop adopted a hands-on format aimed at strengthening researchers’ ability to communicate scientific work with clarity, purpose, and ethical responsibility.
Over the two days, participants engaged in interactive activities including collaborative mapping exercises, small-group discussions, peer feedback sessions, and real-time drafting with expert guidance. The sessions emphasized strategic communication design, and narrative construction.
By the end of the workshop, participants developed structured draft communication outputs for their research projects, gained a deeper understanding of science storytelling principles, and received constructive peer feedback from interdisciplinary perspectives.
Overall, the workshop equipped participants with practical tools and conceptual frameworks to translate research into accessible and impactful communication, reinforcing the idea that science communication is a deliberate and integral part of the research process.
